If for whatever reason you are not satisfied with the quality of the cable TV that you receive, you certainly have no idea what you are complaining about. Before it became so popular and readily available, you only had three television channels to choose from.
If you do not like soap operas shown in the afternoon, bad luck, there was nothing else on. Maybe the competitions are not your thing, and most stations then all the game shows scheduled at the same time.
Some people really do not like to watch the news; regardless if it is the local or the national variety. If you happen to be one of those that falls into that category, only a few decades ago either you learned to like it, or you turned you TV off for a while.
Today, there are plenty of sports enthusiasts could not live without your cable TV connection. If you happen to be one of them, no doubt hoping that you do not work on Saturday or Sunday, because those were the only days when all sports were all on TV before cable TV.
The reality shows that really, really taken off in recent years. If someone in your family likes to sit and watch each of them, you can certainly thank the cable for that. If you know more about history than it did when I was in high school to study it, the more likely is that the History Channel, which of course is a cable television channel.
Back in the day when there were only three television stations, if you enjoyed shows about nature and animals, they were broadcast about once a week or so. You certainly could not enjoy one of them almost every time you turn on your set, like you now can.
When it comes to watching movies on TV, hopefully they're always at home on Sunday night, because that is when most of them. If not, then I was out of luck and could not see many of them at all.
Cable TV has significantly improved not only the quantity, but the quality of the entertainment that all of us can enjoy in our very own home. The next time you sit down in front of your television and begin to wish there was more to watch just try and think what it was like just only a few decades ago.
