Samsung UE46D6530 46 Inch TV Features

By David Eton

The new 46-inch LED 3D Smart TV just released by Samsung is that company's most recent installment in a long line of televisions it has manufactured throughout the years. By many, the new Samsung UE46D6530 is regarded as the second generation of 3D televisions to arrive on the market.

This new 3D TV is part of Samsung's efforts to introduce members of the public to its "One Design" technology. This technology, trademarked by Samsung, plays an important role in Samsung's ability to make televisions much more compact. The direct result of the Samsung UE46D6530 using this technology is its extremely compact size.

The thickness of a TV and its bezel width are the two factors that establish how compact the TV will be. The Samsung UE46D6530 3D Smart TV's bezel is a mere 12 millimetres, thinner than most of the televisions that are currently being sold in electronics stores today. Its thin bezel means the Samsung UE46D6530 3D Smart TV has a large screen size within a frame that is small. Samsung has, in addition to improving the bezel's functionality, made the bezel stylish by using a brushed aluminium design.

Samsung's One Design technology also impacts the thickness of the television itself. In fact, this technology has resulted in the Samsung UE46D6530 being less than 3 cm thick. This thin design makes this model easier to handle and display than other televisions of the same screen size.

It is worth noting that this model has naturally evolved and grown out of earlier models that were manufactured by Samsung. To put it differently, this Samsung Smart TV is a significantly enhanced version of previous models and has had up-to-date new technologies and significant improvements incorporated.

For example, this television makes use of active 3D technology. The technology works through active 3D glasses, which allows the television the freedom to change 2D images into 3D. The fact that this television can make 2D images into 3D is one of its biggest advantages. The glasses work with the help of an advanced 3D transmitter in the screen which uses Bluetooth to communicate with the active 3D glasses.

The Bluetooth technology permits the active 3D glasses to operate wirelessly without the problems relating to infrared transmissions that earlier models of 3D televisions experienced. In addition, the right and left sides of the active 3D glasses display individual images which are in the 1080p HD format, a technique which results in a 3D, fully HD final image. This model also uses a 400 Hz motion rate to eliminate the flicker sensation experienced by viewers watching most of the other manufacturers' first generation 3D TVs with poor motion rates.

This 46 inch Samsung TV also has a number of other features worth mentioning here, including a highly efficient LED screen, an integrated Freeview HD tuner, integrated wi-fi, USB playback and a Personal Video Recorder (PVR).
