By Peter Smith

Have you always prided yourself on the fact that you know electronics? If gadgets are your thing, you likely have several different cutting edge pieces of technology in your home right now. However, that flat screen you purchase several years ago just isn't doing it for you anymore and you are considering an upgrade. Have you considered the newest in television innovation, the Samsung 3D? If you are interested in the newest thing in television viewing, a great HD experience, this could be the right move for you.

You may have noticed that many channels are offering popular television shows in 3D. Cable and satellite companies are getting in on the game as well by offering entire channels in 3D. If all that were not enough big movie productions are starting to release new titles in three dimensions and re-releasing older titles with the same technology.

When you are looking for a new television of any type, Samsung is a very well known brand. Before you run out to pick up your new Samsung 3D TV, you may have a few understandable questions. Most people are asking exactly what 3D television is. It is not a simple answer, but the basics of 3D TV's are that you can view images in three dimensions on your HDTV when the content is formatted in 3D. You will need a compatible television and a handy pair of 3D active shutter glasses that work in conjunction with one another.

The glasses work by switching between black and clear and alternating from the left and right eye. This works in conjunction with the Samsung 3D TV screen, which is displaying alternating images at ever so slightly different angles. This is moving at such rapid rate that the brain can't see both angles at once creating the illusion of a three dimensional image.

Samsung is a leader in flat screen television technology and they offer a line of 3D TV's that are among the best available. They have 3D TV's that come in sizes from forty inches to sixty five inches ranging in price from eight hundred USD to above twenty five hundred USD.

Samsung is offering these TV's with a feature that they call Samsung Apps on their "smart" TV's. These are web connected applications and include a web browser that allows you to search for TV shows, chat with your friends and surf the web, along with other interactive content made for television. Samsung apps connect to some of your favorite places for movies such as Blockbuster, Netflix, Hulu, and you can even watch videos that are on YouTube.

All of these advanced features being offered on their televisions is just further proof that Samsung 3D TV's are top of the line. If you are concerned about regular content, do not worry, you can view all regular content on a 3D TV's. The only time three dimensions will be viewed is if a movie or television show has been formatted for the technology.

Do keep in mind that you are only able to view 3D TV with the 3D glasses. So, if you plan on having a large group of friends over for the big game or the kids are having 3D movie night, remember that you will need enough pairs of 3D glasses for everyone.
