How To Watch From Computer To TV Advice

By Herman Williams

With the birth of the internet, digital compression and bandwidth expansion were also developed. These breakthrough revolutions made it possible to buy and download music over the internet, and to view movies online. The downside of this, however, is that our 17-inch computer monitors may not deliver the same viewing experience as our 37-inch television screens. So, here's how to watch from computer to TV.

There are several ways by which you can view movies from your computer on your television screen. One simple way of doing it is to burn CDs. The problem with this method, however, is that most service encodes its downloadable video files with some form of digital rights management (DRM), which restricts the number of copies a customer can make and usually blocks the viewer from burning a copy onto a DVD.

Therefore, another method that you can try is to plug it in. This method is easy because all you need to do in order to get your movies onto your TV is to directly plug your computer into your TV set. In order to do this, you need to have a video cable. Luckily enough, most computers have an S-video port that can be connected to the S-video input of your TV screen using a very cheap S-video cable with around four to seven pins.

It is important that you figure out what kind of output connections your computer has, and then buy a cable for one of those that will also attach to your television.

If you want better picture quality, you may use standard VGA ports to connect the computer to your television. You may also do so via the DVI to HDMI (high-definition multimedia interface) cable. A 19-pin HDMI connection is recommended, but then again, you have to make sure that your TV supports this type of connection because it can display resolutions up to high definition 1080p on your television screen. Moreover, you have to connect a 3.5 mm stereo jack plug into the line-out port of your PC sound card. As for the other end of the cord, plug it into the audio input port on your TV to play stereo sound through your TV speakers.

Indeed, watching video on your computer can be frustrating, mainly because a computer monitor is so much smaller than a television screen. Therefore, you have to learn how to watch from computer to TV to enjoy an amazing viewing experience.
